Si Datu Bua is an intimate 6-guest phinisi with 3 cabins — bespoke Indonesian private charters.
Si Datu Bua — the name means “Beloved Princess” — is the second phinisi of Silolona Sojourns, built after Silolona by the same Konjo boatbuilders of Sulawesi and launched in 2012. She was designed by Seery Yacht Design. Her operator gives her length as 40.2 metres, with an 8.5-metre beam and a 3.2-metre draught; she cruises at ten knots, is fully air-conditioned and carries two RIB tenders with 100 hp four-stroke engines.
She has three cabins, each with a king-size bed and each named for a place: the Banda Suite, the master, at 6.8 by 5.6 metres, and the Toraja and Celebes cabins at 5.8 by 4.1 metres. Each is meant for two adults, with extra beds for children possible in all three, and her operator lists a crew of 15. The cabins are decorated with original art from Indonesian cultures. Meals, which the operator describes as Asian fusion, are served in the dining lounge or at the alfresco table, and the foredeck is laid out with loungers.
Silolona Sojourns charters her privately and plans voyages around the monsoons: Komodo, Flores and Alor from May to September; Raja Ampat, Papua, Cenderawasih Bay, Banda, the Savu Sea islands and Sumba from October to April. Its Savu Sea voyages sail on either Silolona or Si Datu Bua, and her own page pairs a journey from the Sulawesi Sea to the Toraja mountains with the 164-year-old clan house the company has restored on the slopes of Gunung Sesean.
This is the rate we hold on file for her. Your final price depends on your dates, route and length of charter, and is confirmed in writing before any payment.
A crew who run the season, not the season's first charter. They know the bays you haven't asked about yet.
No printed card. Tell the chef one thing you love and one thing you hate. The rest is a kitchen, not a kitchen of compromise.
The famous sites are famous for a reason. The quiet ones are why you charter privately. We plan for both.
Charters are not booked through an app. Your concierge holds the dates, the captain confirms the route, and we send the file.
Si Datu Bua sails 3 distinct cruising grounds across the year. Each charter follows one ground, chosen by season — you don't cover them all in a single voyage.
Availability is confirmed personally with the captain. Share the dates you have in mind and your concierge replies — usually within a few hours, day or night.
We never show a date as free until the captain confirms it.
Our concierge AI drafts itineraries against the live fleet — compare Si Datu Bua with similar vessels, score the season, or sketch a week day-by-day. The concierge confirms anything you tentatively pin in under 24 hours.
Send your dates and the brief — we hold them while the captain confirms the route. No card is taken at this stage. A signed charter agreement and a deposit — set by each vessel and confirmed in your proposal — confirm the booking; the balance is due before embarkation, per your charter agreement.
Fuel surcharge for the actual passage, port fees, food and beverage, marina dues, ground transfers, and travel insurance. We quote APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) up front so there are no surprises.
Yes. The route is a starting point — the captain runs the final call based on weather, your party's appetite, and what the season is doing. Most guests change something on day three.
