Rascal is a 10-guest phinisi with 5 cabins — luxurious Indonesian expedition charters.
Rascal is a handmade phinisi built in 2015 in Sulawesi by Pak Haji Wahab and Raul Boscarino, on an ironwood hull. She is 30 metres overall and 7.4 metres wide, and her operator describes the interior as having “a laid-back luxe vibe reminiscent of the Hamptons”. Five en-suite cabins take ten guests, with a crew of 12, and she carries two inflatable tenders.
Two cabins are on the upper deck: the master, 5.5 by 4.5 metres with wraparound windows, a king-size bed and a daybed, and Cabin 4, also with a king and a daybed. On the main deck, Cabins 1 and 2 have queen beds and Cabin 3 a bunk with a double below and a single above. Meals are served at a sheltered al fresco table for ten on the main deck; sunset canapés are served on the roof deck, which is also used for yoga and for jumping into the sea.
Diving is run by a PADI instructor on board, and she carries four tandem sea kayaks, four paddleboards, a wakeboard, water skis and fishing gear; cooking classes, massage, yoga and dive certification are arranged on request. Rascal Voyages sells her as a private charter or cabin by cabin. She is offered on the company’s Komodo and Ring of Fire voyages, run from May to October, on Spice Islands crossings from Ambon in October–November and March–April, and in Raja Ampat, where its season runs from October to April.
Published by her operator; we last checked it on 20 Sept 2026. Your final price depends on your dates, route and length of charter, and is confirmed in writing before any payment.
12 hands who run the season, not the season's first charter. They know the bays you haven't asked about yet.
No printed card. Tell the chef one thing you love and one thing you hate. The rest is a kitchen, not a kitchen of compromise.
The famous sites are famous for a reason. The quiet ones are why you charter privately. We plan for both.
Charters are not booked through an app. Your concierge holds the dates, the captain confirms the route, and we send the file.
Rascal sails 3 distinct cruising grounds across the year. Each charter follows one ground, chosen by season — you don't cover them all in a single voyage.
Availability is confirmed personally with the captain. Share the dates you have in mind and your concierge replies — usually within a few hours, day or night.
We never show a date as free until the captain confirms it.
Our concierge AI drafts itineraries against the live fleet — compare Rascal with similar vessels, score the season, or sketch a week day-by-day. The concierge confirms anything you tentatively pin in under 24 hours.
Send your dates and the brief — we hold them while the captain confirms the route. No card is taken at this stage. A signed charter agreement and a deposit — set by each vessel and confirmed in your proposal — confirm the booking; the balance is due before embarkation, per your charter agreement.
Fuel surcharge for the actual passage, port fees, food and beverage, marina dues, ground transfers, and travel insurance. We quote APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) up front so there are no surprises.
Yes. The route is a starting point — the captain runs the final call based on weather, your party's appetite, and what the season is doing. Most guests change something on day three.
Rascal carries up to 10 guests across 5 cabins. Smaller parties get more space; larger ones still get a private charter.
Tell us the dates, the party and the brief — our desk drafts a route and the captain confirms. Answered within a few hours during Bali office hours — in English or Bahasa. No charge until you confirm.
Rascal takes up to 10 guests, across 5 cabins, cared for by a crew of 12.
