Deposit and cancellation terms are set per vessel and confirmed in your proposal before you pay. This page explains how they work.
Submitting an inquiry costs nothing and holds nothing. Our team first confirms availability and final pricing with you. You only pay once you have reviewed and accepted a proposal.
A deposit secures your dates once your charter is confirmed. The deposit amount is set by the vessel and its operator and is stated clearly in your proposal — we do not apply a single fleet-wide deposit rate. Your dates are held once the deposit is received.
The remaining balance is due before departure, on the schedule set out in your charter confirmation. We will send a reminder with a secure payment link ahead of the due date.
If you need to cancel, the applicable terms are those in your vessel's charter agreement, confirmed in your proposal before payment. As a general principle, the earlier you notify us, the more of the charter fee can typically be recovered, since the vessel may still be re-chartered for your dates.
We will always try to help — where a full cancellation isn't the best outcome, we can often arrange a change of dates or a charter credit (see below).
Your safety comes first. If weather, sea conditions, or other events beyond anyone's control affect your charter, the captain makes the final call. In these cases we favour rescheduling to new dates or issuing a charter credit wherever possible, rather than sailing in unsafe conditions.
Requests to change dates or details are accommodated wherever availability and the operator's terms allow. Any difference in price for new dates or a different vessel will be quoted and confirmed before it applies.
Any refund due is returned to your original payment method. Card and bank refunds typically take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank or payment provider. You will receive a written confirmation of the amount, method and date when a refund is processed.
Please arrive at the agreed time — your concierge confirms the exact meeting point and boarding time before your charter. Charters run to a fixed schedule, so a late arrival may shorten the time on the water without changing the fee.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance for every voyage. For anything about your deposit, cancellation, or a refund, contact your concierge at hello@yh-charter.com or on WhatsApp — we are here to help.
