Otium was drawn and built by Marc Christoffel, working side by side with his team of Indonesian boatbuilders at Bira in South Sulawesi, and her specification gives 2026 as her year of build. She is 48 metres long on an 8.6-metre beam, with a superstructure of ironwood and teak, and she is the newest of Samara Yachting’s four boats. Her interiors were conceived by Fresa Amalia with Walter Wagner, the architect of Nihi Sumba, around natural light, handcrafted finishes and soft, calm tones.

Six suites, with seven guest bathrooms, take twelve guests. The 39-square-metre Owners Suite is on the main deck, with a king bed and its own sea-view lounge; the 25-square-metre Queen Suite is on the upper deck; and four 15-square-metre staterooms on the lower deck, two named Coral and two Sand, each have a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom. A separate twin bunk cabin takes two more guests, children or an entourage. The crew includes a captain, a cruise director, a dive instructor and a masseuse.

She carries two 100-hp RIB tenders that take ten guests each, two dive compressors with a nitrox membrane system and a 14 kWp solar array, whose battery storage is there for quiet nights at anchor; Starlink keeps her connected. Her operator schedules Komodo from March to October, sailing from Labuan Bajo, and Raja Ampat between October and April, from Sorong. She is chartered whole from USD 14,000 a night plus VAT, and for 2027–28 also by the suite on fixed-date Signature Voyages, from USD 11,800 for two guests.
