Kelana – the name translates as ‘explore’ – was built in 2012 and is operated by Sulawesi Adventures, whose office is in Rantepao, Tana Toraja. Her specification sheet gives her length as 15.5 metres (16 in her own description) and her beam as 4.75 metres, with three cabins and three bathrooms for a maximum of six guests. She sails from Labuan Bajo, where guests are collected from the airport on the first day.

The cabins are a master, a double and a bunk cabin, all air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms and finished in wood, with local basketry and hand-woven tribal textiles. She also has a living room, a kitchen, an indoor dining room and a lounge deck, and the chef serves Western and Asian-inspired food at wooden tables inside and out, with room for six.

She is chartered privately only, into Komodo National Park, with a three-day minimum and suggested itineraries of three, five and seven days. Her 2026 rate card lists USD 2,300 a night in normal season and USD 2,600 from 15 July to 15 September (two nights minimum) and from 24 December to 4 January (three nights minimum), tax included. The rate covers meals, soft drinks, airport transfers, trekking, snorkelling, paddleboarding, kayaking and three dives a day with equipment and a divemaster; park and harbour fees, alcohol and insurance are extra.
