Samara II was built in 2017 of ironwood and teak, and is 23 metres long and 4.5 metres wide, cruising at six to nine knots on a six-cylinder Mitsubishi engine. During the day, solar energy is stored in batteries to run her at night, when the machinery is shut down to cut the noise. She makes 280 litres of fresh water an hour and carries a 6.2-metre dinghy with a 40 hp Yamaha outboard.

Her four cabins are all on the lower deck. Bali and Flores measure 7.95 m², each with a double bed and a bunk for up to three guests; Sulawesi and Rote measure 6.14 m², each with a double bed for two, which makes ten guests in all, looked after by a crew of six. The interior was designed to draw in natural light and has an open kitchen, and outside there are a shaded foredeck and a sun deck.

She is offered as a private charter only and stays within Komodo National Park, sailing from Labuan Bajo; her operator keeps her to snorkelling and runs diving trips on another of its yachts. Her operator’s 2026 site lists her at USD 4,500 a night, including hotel or airport transfers, three meals a day, paddleboards and snorkelling gear, a local guide and photographer, Starlink, and one beach dinner on stays of three nights or more. Park fees, alcohol and gratuities are extra.
