Magia II was built by hand in the phinisi style — in 2016, with a refit in 2019 — yet her owners call her ‘not exactly what one would call a sailboat’: she is a 26-metre motor yacht on a six-metre beam, all in teak and inspired by the yachts of the 1960s. Her owner’s family were antique dealers and collectors in Italy in the 19th and 20th centuries, and her fittings were chosen around the world, from English family silverware to French wallpapers and Italian lamps.

Ten guests — eight adults and two children, by the operator’s count — sleep in four cabins across three decks. Putri Duyung, the master cabin, sits aft on the main deck with a 180-degree view, a two-seater jacuzzi on its private balcony, a walk-in wardrobe and a rain shower. The three cabins below deck have white walls and copper taps: Mola Mola, the VIP cabin, sets two single beds either side of its main bed, and Lumba Lumba and Kura Kura are the standard doubles. The upper deck has a bar and a day-bed large enough for every guest.

A crew of ten includes a cruise director who is a dive instructor; she runs her own PADI dive centre, with courses from Open Water to more than sixteen specialties, and carries a resident spa therapist. The chef cooks Asian fusion and Western dishes. Her operator sails Sumbawa, Saleh Bay, Komodo and Alor from April to September and the Banda Islands, Triton Bay and Raja Ampat from November to March, from home ports at Labuan Bajo and Sorong. On the rates her website published in 2026, she is sold whole from USD 5,900 a night or by the cabin from USD 2,000, plus 11% tax.
